I had openSUSE 12.1 on this computer (Acer AX1470-UR30P) and sound worked perfectly. I have an HDMI monitor connected and used that for sound. But after installing openSUSE 13.2 I have no sound and cannot figure out what’s wrong.
never mind, a restart got it working.
Several things
Check volumes levels
Still using HDMI??
Look in to Yast sound config and see what drivers are installed. You will probably see more then one change the order
Install pavulcontrol and see if you can get it working there buy changing outputs.
You did not tell the desktop so maybe check in there and see if something is miss configed. It may assume you want to use the an analog output
