Calm down and tell use what video card you have. Ther are problems with ATI cards in 11.2
Sax2 is still available, just not part of YaST. You can call sax2 via the command line, or when you have your desktop go to kickoff and then System>Configuration>Display.
Xorg decided to go hot pluggable, which means that sax2 became obsolete. However, openSUSE kept it around for now, just not part of YaST.
sax2 did not work but i managed to get x by copying the xorg.conf.install to xorg.conf. now im back without nvidia. So running nvidia-settings it changes back to no screens…it seems there are no more wide screen resolutions. im using 1440-900 or any widescreen. i suspect gstreamer to have changed/broken xserverrc as this file is the only changed
So what do i do now? reinstall nvidia? how to get rid of the old files?
Im using linux since 1998 and to have still such…not much more and i move to mac.
Learn from mac folks…like Sound etc is still prehistoric
solved by installing latest NVIDIA
also if you ever get kicked out out of your UI and are sat at the flashing linux prompt, type
startx
to get back into the GUI.
