No packages in factory oss repo

I just did a ‘zypper dup’ this morning for RC1 and discovered that my repo from factory oss doesn’t have any packages. Zypper and YaST say it’s enabled and the packages from the non-oss repo are still there.

Anyone know a fix for this?

The packages are there.

Clean up zypper

zypper clean --all

You may also need

rpmdb --rebuilddb

Watch out for this in 12.1

You could fill up root quickly

Index of /factory/repo/oss is, when I browse it filled with packages. Do a "su -c ‘zypper ref’ " in a terminal window and see if it refreshes.

Me thinks it may be disabled Even trying a net install pointing to download.opensuse.org/factory/repo/oss The software selection comes up empty
Trying the above suggestions didn’t help So I am assuming.

There is something up
If you use Yast software management
The repo doesn’t even show

Hi
Check OBS, it’s all disabled at present, AFAIK a rebuild underway…

At least a week, maybe more ago, it was announced that factory has been
copied to 12.1.
Everything as for 12.1 will happen there from then on.

Factory will go on towards 12.2 after some time.
No one should point to factory anymore if one wants to have 12.1.

IMHO everybody using these development versions should read the factory
mailing list.

I do read the ML
But it must have escaped me

There is no repo for 12.1. I only found 12.1-RC1 but it doesn’t have any rpm’s.

If they are preping for release. All you need do now is wait for release.
Some of us expect to get the Gold Master soon. We’ll let you know how it is.

yast is back working and there are 1,419 updates for a kde install

YMMV. I have them.
They were in YaST after the very initial installation.
I disabled them then and after the announce about factory being copied
there I removed factory and ebabled them.

They work fine.

well the factory update went well. with the kernel has been udated so no more rc versions.

Just out of curiosity what do you have for

cat /etc/SuSE-release

still shows 12.1 rc 1

I still have RC1 as well with 3.1 kernel. I disabled the factory repos, so the updates are from 12.1 oss.

Anyone else notice that the gecko’s eyes move on the boot splash screen?

Yep. Have the movin’ eyes since we installed RC1… well since we finally got it installed. By the way, in case anyone is interested we got nVidia 285.05.09 driver working on RC1 -and- also got VMware working. Just an FYI.

Okay, that’s wrong. I discovered that I still had the factory repos enabled when I did the update. So the final 3.1 kernel is in the factory repos, as well as 100’s of updates for KDE 4.7. But I’m leaving the factory repos disabled so I’ll be sure to get the right packages for the GM.
