My system sounds aren’t working. If I go into System Settings - Notifications and try playing a sound by clicking on one of the play icons next to a application title I get a message to say that the “Audio device Creative Sound blaster MP3+ (USB Audio) does not work. Falling back to default”.
The thing is I can play MP3’s in Amarok and hear video sound ok through my Creative Sound blaster MP3+.
System Settings - Sound - Backend is set to GStreamer.

Dang, I don’t have a KDE4 system (and I don’t want to, actually)
I had a similar problem whith KDE 4.1, and I’ve solved it installing the package phonon-backend-xine.
I still have some problem with the starting sound that don’t play completely when the system starts, but the other system notifications are ok.
Tried downloading phonon-backend-xine via Yast - Software. It found it, but when I ticked it and clicked ACCEPT I got a “not found on medium” error. So it looks like there is a problem with the repo ?

Which one? KDE4 Factory? People work with the files there, so temporary inconvenience is expected
Just try again.
