No Network wired or wireless 13.2 KDE after replacement of wicd with networkmanager

Hello All,

Subject: No Network wired or wireless 13.2 KDE after replacement of wicd with networkmanager.

A poorly functioning HP DV-7 with Centrino Wireless-N + Wimax 6150 BGN has led to numerous attempts to configure reliable wireless where signal strength is very good.

The default networkmanager worked OK, but could not in any obvious fashion be made to work with a better USB wireless device.

I tried wicd and it worked about the same. In an attempt to switch to a networkmanager that allows multiple devices such as that in Linux Mint 17.1 cinnamon, I switched back to networkmanager. That resulted in No Network wired or wireless. Attempts to restore wicd with rpm failed due to huge number of dependencies.

I cannot tell if this OpenSUSE install has the files needed to restore wicd stored away someplace, if so then that would be a solution.

So to get started all I need is any network (wired is fine, so simple command line programs would be fine) so I can at least get back a working wicd or a working networkmanger.

Any Ideas ?

Thanks,
Rock.
