No network after update install

Hi,
I have configured OpenSuSE 11.1 in VirtualBox and Networking was working fine and I was able to access network. Yesterday I recieved update notification from SuSE and updated machine. Now after restart eth0 is not comming up. In Hardware profile I can see Network Card but it is not configured automatically. I don’t know how to configure it. Virtualbox Networking was working before latest update and just tried in other virtual machines.

Best Regards.

Is there any way to uninstall last update?

VirtualBox 3.2.6
Host system: Windows Vista
Guest System: Open SuSE 11.1

Rolling back the last update is not easy and far to much trouble for a VM. Unless this VM is very precious to you?

Guestadditions is an enhancement / driver package
Read the manual: http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/3.2.6/UserManual.pdf

What do your settings in VirtualBox say for the guest’s network adapter?
Is there an adapter available?

The second thing as already advised here, install the guest additions in
the guest.

Hi,
I have installed new OS 11.3 in VBox and it is better than 11.1, but any way it is pain if working system does not work after update.

Thanks for help.

Did you check the setting of the VB before you booted it up, it may have gotten unchecked. The guest addons are needed by VB.

Here is how to install them for XP but it’s the same for all OS’s. VirtualBox: Installing Guest Additions : VirtualOne
