No more update for 11.2 RC ???

I’m using 11.2 RC1 x86-64,it has been 3 days no available update, everytime I run ‘sudo zypper dup’,show no update available.
Is it normal? Or RC1 is really stable as final?

i know that only most [but not all] of the parts of the world where
Linux and openSUSE developer work/live/play have cultures with the
concept of “week ends”…

and, “week ends” are normally useful for family activities, church
obligations, unwinding, recharging for the coming week and etc etc…

do folks work every day of the week where you live?

on the other hand, are you getting any error messages?

For the time being people running RC1 are using the factory repos. Most of them are frozen until release of 11.2 Final.
Today there were KDE4 updates.

I’ve got a problem with the 11.2 packman repo.

Ophalen: libx264-devel-0.0svn20090922-0.pm.1.2.x86_64.rpm [fout]
Bestand './x86_64/libx264-devel-0.0svn20090922-0.pm.1.2.x86_64.rpm' niet gevonden op medium 'http://ftp.skynet.be/pub/packman/suse/11.2/'

This version is available:
http://ftp.skynet.be/pub/packman/suse/11.2/x86_64/libx264-devel-0.0svn20091023-0.pm.1.1.x86_64.rpm

Why is zypper asking for the older one?

Please start a new thread.

BTW do you have 11.1 + 11.2 repos enabled for Packman?
BTW2 They may have added some updates after your last refresh of the repos. Can happen. Refresh all and try again.

I use only packman 11.2 repo and I refreshed always before updating.

But I think the repodata is old on Index of /pub/packman/suse/11.2/repodata

Packages are from 24-Oct but the repodata is from 19-Oct. So I wait until it is updated.

I also found something on Packman updating their build service and having to rebuild a lot of packages as a result of that.

I tried to install 11.2 RC1 today and I can’t add Packman. It’s saying that the key is missing and if I ignore this then nothing will install from this repo. Are these problems related to this topic? I need loads of things from packman but can’t :frowning:

This is what I’m using
Index of /pub/linux/misc/packman/suse/factory

With no issue

Just updated, indeed a question about the key. Answered it was OK, all updated normally.

Beware that openSUSE 11.2 has been branched from Factory so next update of the Factory repository will contain a post 11.2 state.

widehat.opensuse.org will contain 11.2 RC2 once released, until then some in-between RC1 and RC2 state is available in temporary repository Index of /repositories/openSUSE:/11.2/repo/oss

Yeah. Figures…

Thanks for providing new temporary repo for RC1. Do you happen to Know where
KDE4.3.2 moved to? /KDE:/43 is empty and KDE:/KDE4:/Desktop is 4.3.1?

Your work is appreciated.

Hello,

remaining openSUSE 11.2 development until release is now branched from Factory
[1], the next Factory repo build which will be synced out will already contain
post openSUSE 11.2 changes in some packages (like the phonon splitting) - RC2
will appear only in [widehat.opensuse.org](http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.2/repo/.)..

The KDE:KDE4:* repository layout should reflect the new state also, hence

- I copied current openSUSE:11.2 state to KDE:KDE4:STABLE:Desktop project -
after successful build and enabled publication in the next days it will
contain KDE 4.3.1 packages (including fixes being tested for official
online update) for the next eight months until openSUSE 11.3 release.

- Hacks/links for hosting newer application sources in KDE:43 project will be
reverted. They will be pushed to KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop and Factory now.

- KDE 4.3.2 (or with 4.3.3 release) will be merged into the KKFD packages,
KDE:43 will be, if kept, only consist of links to KKFD first. With some
to be defined KDE 4.4 development release KKFD will start to contain it so
switch to either STABLE:Desktop or KDE:43 before if you want to stay safe.

- KDE:KDE4:UNSTABLE:Desktop (requires now KDE:Qt46) is always unsafe. <g>

- Btw KDE:42 is not built anymore for some days now and will with the on it
depending repos of Playground/Community disappear also in near future.

Is something missing/wrong/unclear? :-)

Bye,
   Steve

Thanks for information. I just used zypper dup:

http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE%3A/11.2/repo/oss/

which was mentioned earlier. Had KDE4 repos off so it dropped me back to
KDE4.3.1 release 6 from KDE4.3.2 release 2 except with Knode and Kontact
which are still KDE 4.3.2.

Sound works after second reboot. Before that was getting Amarok error that
the shared library fro xine and GStreamer was missing. I did add some python
updates right before the second reboot so I’m not sure what fixed it.

Will work on KDE update tomorrow. Thanks again for the information.

at least there is no /repositories/openSUSE:/11.2/repo/oss/ directory.
