No more space on /boot

Hi,

I’ve tried to install the next kernel update, however I got an error message that my /boot partition is full (as I remember, it’s only 100 or 200 MB).

There are some unused kernels there, but is it safe to simply delete them?

Remove any unwanted kernels in yast or zypper DO NOT simply delete the directories. Note it is normal to keep the previous kernel for backup and when a kernel is updated there will be 3 until next boot when the oldest should be removed

Do you use BTRFS file system and is /boot on it’s own partition???

I guess I should stop drinking, I haven’t thought about using YaST.

I use ext4 as my /boot. Actually, since I used Ubuntu and CentOS before, I wanted to use filesystems I’m already familiar with.

I’m a pathetic fool, and can’t find the clean boot partition option, and too stupid, to use Google…

Yast-software management search for kernel use version tab bottom right remove any unwanted.but remember you need space for 3 if on a separate boot partition. 500 meg should be plenty less then 350 and you might get squeezed. You can turn off keeping old kernels or keep more but it is very good to have a backup kernel. Settings are in /etc/zypp/zypp.conf
