No more sound after sleep mode

Nothing comes out the internal speakers, but I have sound on headphones when I plug them.

Do I have to create a script to avoid this situation or is it possible to do something to fix this (I don’t really know what’s happening) ?

I speak to myself, but I continue investigation.

Problem is the same on liveUSB of Clear Linux and Fedora 34 beta.

Debian Buster and Linux Mint LMDE 4 liveUSB don’t have the problem…

Ever tried to restart services associated with sound.target?

Yep, but it didn’t work.
The only way is to rescan devices like explained before.

I have absolutely no idea what you actually tried. However as rescanning works with your hardware put these commands in a service unit and invoke it upon resuming from suspend.

Linux Mint 20.1 LiveUSB has the problem. I think it’s kernel 5.x related…

I tried to restart sound service, pulseaudio, alsa, etc.

  • Make sure sound is working.
  • Save the status information to /var/lib/alsa/asound.state by running: ‘/usr/sbin/alsactl store’.
  • Verify /var/lib/alsa/asound.state exists and holds proper information. If unsure post the contents of the file.
  • Reboot and post again your log: ‘journalctl -b -u sound-extra.service -u alsa-state.service -u alsa-restore.service’.
