I’m having some problems with Firefox and mimetypes. None seem to be configured except flash and 7 others >:(. I can’t open One-Click Install files, archives, music/video, etc because Firefox doesn’t know what to do with them. If I go to Preferences > Applications there’s only a handful of types in there. Reinstalling Firefox doesn’t help either.
Did you remove the old Firefox first, or did you upgrade? It looks like some dependency is messed up.
Do you get any joy when you go to “about:plugins”? Maybe your plugins are all confused?
Removed 3.0 first.
I forgot to add this info on my first post but Imade the Live CD with SUSE Studio.
I also installed the openSUSE Firefox branding.

After some hours of searching I found out about MozPlugger which seems to have fixed some of the mime-types.
However, still no ymp (on click install) file support.
I don’t know where to go from here, do I need to install another package or do I need to do something with MozPlugger to let it use all of the gnome mime-types?
I’m a bit lost. Also downgrading to FF 3.0 doesn’t fix it.
i’m having same problem with firefox 3.5.5 on 64 bit suse 11.2 machine. i’m using here default firefox install.
What is interesting though is on my 32 bit laptop everything works just fine.
is this just a 64bit issue?
