openSUSE 10.x is no longer supported…you should update in order to
have a secure system…
on the other hand, maybe you are actually running
SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED) version 10
which came pre-installed on a new computer you bought (?)…
if you are running SLED 10 you are welcome here but will be MUCH
better served at forums.novell.com (here, very few folks have any
experience with SLED, and most all of us are volunteer helpers and are
running openSUSE 11.x, and over on the Novell site there are folks
obligated to provide you support, since that is a commercial product)…
on the other hand, check back here because maybe a (real) network guru
stops in with some advice on your connection problem…
and if you actually are running openSUSE you sure need help to
update to 11.2 or 11.1…so, speak.
As root do: rcnetwork restart, I remember that I have that problem
with openSuSE 10.x
