Hi,
I’m trying to use fluidsynth-dssi plugin with Rosegarden and Qtractor. This plugin should open a preferences window on which the user loads the proper soundfont. This window doesn’t appear and the message shown in Qtractor messages window is:
fsd-gui starting (pid 2183)...
By the way, I’m using Xfce desktop manager.

If you are running Tumbleweed this is the right forum. Lack of reply is more likely due to a lack of members using the plugin. I know of at least one, and your title is nice and specific. You may not get an answer this quickly. 
After searching for solutions or similar issues in other distros I found the cause of the problem was related to the hosts definitions. So I changed /etc/hosts file, these are the relevant lines:
# IP-Address Full-Qualified-Hostname Short-Hostname
#
127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain linux-08g9 linux-08g9.site
# special IPv6 addresses
::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6 linux-08g96 linux-08g96.site6
Where “linux-08g9” is my computer host name. I guess this issue is also present in OS 12.3.
Oh MAN! I could kiss ya! been looking everywhere for this solution… IT WORKS!
