Yesterday I installed firefox 4 manually on my opensuse 11.3 pc with this guide: How to install Firefox 4 Final on Linux (Ubuntu) | johannes-eva.net . Since then, I cannot watch youtube or other streaming videos. It says it’s missing the flash-plugin and that I should download it. But this is installed, as other browsers as opera and also firefox 3.6 can manage these sites.
Also, other flash sites such as google docs don’t have any problems to load in firefox 4.
@lenwolf:
In firefox 4, this plugin is missing like you said (it is present in firefox 3.6)
How can I install it?
I already tried to copy libflashplayer.so to ~./.mozilla/plugins but it didn’t work
or mozilla website Mozilla Firefox 4 Release Notes
and there on the right hand site corner is “linux” link to instalation file which runs in Ark (in opensuse 11.4 installs the firefox easier way that you did)

And I can confirm that with this repo on 11.3 flash works like a charm
without any additional tweaking on 11.3 (did my update a few weeks ago to
FF4 on the 11.3 machine).

I did so, but I cannot see the whole package of firefox 4 in yast, only stuff like mozillafirefoxdevel, mozillafirefox-debuginfo, mozillafirefox-branding-upstream etc.
I don’t think I can download firefox 4 completely with this?

That is not the way to do it in openSUSE. Add this repository to your
repository list (yast -> software -> software repositories -> add ->
community repositories -> selct mozilla) and after that in yast -> software
management choose the new version of firefox. That’s it.

You already found it it is MozillaFirefox (the first in your screenshot), to
update it click on the versions tab (at the bottom) and select the version
from the mozilla repo, it should then also tell you that it needs to change
two or three other packages and you accept it.

Ouch! It appears that I don’t know how yast works, my apologizes for that :shame:
Is the first time I manually upgrade a program, was not aware that there existed a version tab. Indeed, very simple, made me look a little bit stupid i guess
