I’m not sure exactly what you mean. Is LibreOffice crashing? Can you open a plain text file with gedit?

It sounds like a Nautilus problem, not an access problem. First try adding a test account and see if the same problem exists for that user. If it doesn’t, log back into your account and remove the nautilus config files from the terminal.
mv ~/.config/nautilus ~/.config/nautilus-old
Log off and log back on.
