I noticed that in dolphin, context menu (right click) for a .rar archive there is not the option “Extract here” that I’ve always seen in previous versions. How can I make it appear?
also If i try ark, it says unsupported. how can i unzip my .rar’s?
Check that both rar and unrar are installed. After installing one (or both) here there is a context menu option and it works, although it is now called “Extract package here” (translated from pt_BR, so it might be a little different).
unrar is installed by default, but rar is from packman, IINM there are licensing issues that preclude it being in the distro.
Note: That’s in LEAP 42.3, I don’t think TW will be different.
rar archives should be handled with the unrar package which is packaged for opensuse https://software.opensuse.org/package/unrar
it should be installed check and see if it’s installed
zupper se -si unrar
if it’s not installed install it
rar is propitiatory software and is not included with opensuse, packman re-packages it so you can get it from packman http://packman.links2linux.org/package/rar
if you have the packman repo just do

unrar is part of the default installation. HOWEVER, at least in my last LEAP install, the context menu would only appear after installing rar (from packman).
