What is a koosmile p8? What can “I” not get a “display” from? What works with HDMI just fine? You have provided little useful information.

Please provide complete input/ouput from inxi -GSaz wrapped in code tags.

This is a koosmile p8 I grabbed a link for u hope that helps with that. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0CG9Q37XW?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image

And my TV works with the HDMI just fine or well so far all TVs and monitors work with HDMI just fine so no problems there.

Oh and I can’t get the display that this device comes with to display anything but a black screen with backlight on. Hope that helps better explain things for u if not let me know and I’ll do what u may or may not need to help and we can work together thanks.

@deathgaze2497 Hi have you had a look in the system BIOS for display settings?

I have and it is a lot of new options I’ve never seen before that aside graphics settings led me to nothing and the BIOS dose have a display settings tab but nothing in the submenu to change at all.

@deathgaze2497 can you post the info @mrmazda requested?

I have a Beelink device running MicroOS/Hyprland but it’s a mini desktop, not a laptop and runs fine on both hdmi outputs…

also i tried nomodeset at boot and i now at least get a display but its stuck in portrait and no options to change it exist in display manager in wayland session. On X session i do have all my resolutions and changing to any of them dose nothing and its still in portrait mode.

Nomodeset is for making configuration repairs and troubleshooting! It prevents loading of the KMS kernel module required for normal GUI operation with multiple displays, rotations and modes. Inxi while nomodeset is in effect provides limited useful information.

sorry for that hope this helps im no longer using nomodeset and my main display is active as well.

For anyone interested in what motherboard it is I emailed the company and they said it had no brand that its in house made

I also asked about Linux support this is all they had to say “as for now , Linux still not take the intel N100’s graphic driver , so can not install Linux now.”

So I’ve come to understand its a driver issue for now ergo this

$ journalctl -b | grep -i "drm\|i915\|00:02.0"
Oct 31 13:33:45 user-Default-string kernel: i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] *ERROR* hback porch < 16 pixels
Oct 31 13:33:45 user-Default-string kernel: i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] *ERROR* hback porch < 16 pixels
Oct 31 13:34:41 user-Default-string kernel: i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] *ERROR* hback porch < 16 pixels
Oct 31 13:35:23 user-Default-string kernel: i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] *ERROR* hback porch < 16 pixels

So if I nomodeset in opensuse tumbleweed I can xrandr right its stuck in a stretched 4:3 800x600 aspect ratio but its atleast usable as far as most things go for now

This device has been around long enough that it should be supported in TW by now. I would report a bug.

OK I’ll do just that. Would u kindly direct me to the correct place or platform to report it to thank you.

@deathgaze2497 of course it does as per my output… I’ve had it running on single and dual monitor setups without issues (MicroOS/Hyprland).
