I use Discover (with Packagekit) to update my system and also for installing packages it works wonderfully. Never had a single issue. I am pretty sure it basically just runs zypper dup when you click on “update”. For example if there is any conflict, Discover gives me exactly the same options as zypper in the terminal.
Does it also allow you to select how to resolve the problem?
I think so yes, but not 100% sure as I’ve only ever had one package conflict and that was a while ago and I just decided to do nothing and wait until it was fixed. (I don’t use any third-party repos)
