Hi
Recently I was trying to install KDE 4.2 on my dual boot laptop for suse 11.0. Unfortunately I have lost my default login screen, instead I get a grey screen for user and password plus a small xconsole window with some messages that don’t make any sense to me.
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Feb 26 17:55:34 pdb-shs28 kernel: ipw2200: Failed to send SYSTEM_CONFIG: Already sending a command.
Feb 26 17:56:32 pdb-shs28 syslog-ng[1917]: last message repeated 56 times
Feb 26 17:56:33 pdb-shs28 kernel: ipw2200: Failed to send SYSTEM_CONFIG: Already sending a command.
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Another thing is that shutdown, restart etc other options have also disappeared once I’m logged-in in KDE 3.5.9.
Any suggestion to resolve this issue will be appreciated.
Many Thanks in advance,

Hi
Thanks for responding. I followed the instruction but it is not working. I restarted computer but still the same…
Do you have kde4 installed?
I think I have installed. Even if I set kdm3 in displaymanger it does not work…
make sure you have kde4-kdm installed. And try using kdm4.
