No available WIFI connections

Hi

No available connections it says on my laptop. I go to Yast → Network Services-> Network settings and I tried both Wicked and Network manager with no success. Grateful for your guidance.

Post:
/usr/sbin/hwinfo --netcard
or
lsusb
or

/sbin/lspci -nnk | grep -iA3 net

Hi,

It looks like there is an issue with the network driver:

 Driver Info #0:
Driver Status: rtl8723be is not active
    Driver Activation Cmd: "modprobe rtl8723be"
  Config Status: cfg=no, avail=yes, need=no, active=unknown
  Attached to: #12 (PCI bridge)

rtl8723be is part of the rtlwifi Wlan driver.

Have you installed

firmware: rtlwifi/rtl8723befw_36.bin
firmware: rtlwifi/rtl8723befw.bin

It’s in kernel-firmware-realtek

LANG=C zypper wp /lib/firmware/rtlwifi/rtl8723befw.bin.xz
Command 'what-provides' is replaced by 'search --provides --match-exact'.
See 'help search' for all available options.

I haven’t installed it since this is the first time I encounter this issue on the laptop. How can I install it?

Post the output of the 3 commads in my first post.

Is your wifi deactivated by any key combi:
/usr/sbin/rfkill list all

Otherwise post as root:
journalctl -b | grep -Ei 'network|wicked|firmware|wlan'

It says:

5: hci0: Bluetooth
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: no
Hint: You are currently not seeing messages from other users and the system.
Users in the 'systemd-journal' group can see all messages. Pass -q to
turn off this notice.
No journal files were opened due to insufficient permissions

But:

5: hci0: Bluetooth
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: no

So as root:
rfkill unblock all

Also please post the complete input line and the ouput.

I appreciate your guidance, I’ve learned much from you. I think I’ll just go ahead and do a fresh installation since I’m having issues now with Kate and when trying to unplug my USB drive.
