No audio in OpenSuse 13.2

Hello, yesterday I updated (apper daily updates) my laptop and everything was fine until I restarted it. Then it appeared the following message:

Multimedia System
The audio playback device HD-Audio Generic (CX20590 Analog) does not work.
Falling back to default.

Then I tried to follow the instructions contained in this site: https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Intel-HDA_sound_problems

I typed this

#head -n 1 /proc/asound/card0/codec*Codec: ATI R6xx HDMI

But when trying to get the model related to the codec in the file ALSA-Configuration.txt I could not find anything, instead I could find some models in the HD-Audio-Models.txt file, but I could not find anything related to ATI R6xx HDMI.

Can anybody tell me what the problem is?

Thanks.

Hi
It’s a broken update (there are other threads on the issue in the forum…)
https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=928035

  1. Wait for the update.
  2. Roll back.
  3. Temporarily install the test package indicated in the above bug.

The fixed update has been released already meanwhile, so just update your system and it should work.

I already updated my machine and the sound is working properly, thanks!
