No application list in KDE kick application launcher/menu

Hello,
I uninstalled GNOME on my OpenSuse 12.1 and I realized that after that there is no list of applications in kick launcher application in KDE (i.e. start menu). There is no also database of associations of which files should be open by which applications.
For example, when I click on My Computer icon on desktop I am prompted with message that there is no application associated with type of file.
I guess that uninstallation of GNOME removed some lib or package that is responsiblefor that in KDE. Please advise how can I rebuild start up men i.e. kick application launcher and association of files with applications respective.
Thanks,

Veki

That’s probably the problem
It’s notoriuously difficult to do what you just describe.

I solvd issue by upgrading my KDE to version 4.8. Thus, it installed all possible missing libraries or packages. Everything works fine now.
Thanks indeed
