No Alps device on my 11.3 Vaio

I have a vaio vpcf12jfx/b. I got just about everything working except for my touchpad. Its an Alps Point Device. Any help on where to begin?

If you search this forum you’ll find what appear to be a solution of sorts: synaptic-ps2-touchpad-not-working.

However there are other threads on the subject. Do a search.

Ah… it also seem that a kernel update (on 11.3) will fix the issue, but may create other with sound. This is in one of the threads a search for alps touchpad reveal.
