NNTP Gateway Issue

Just a heads-up for our NNTP users…

We had a security patch that needed to be applied to vBulletin, and it appears that that (or the required upgrade to apply the security patch) has caused an issue with the gateway itself.

We’re looking into it and trying to fix it, but it may be a few days before we know what it’ll take to resolve the issue.

The nature of the security patch is such that we can’t back it out - it fixes a pretty serious issue and that needs to stay fixed.

We’ll try to keep everyone posted as things progress. Thanks for your patience.

Yep.

And as a bonus, for those keeping score, we have now also fixed the thing
that caused it to hiccup on the 28th.

so, i can’t find my score sheet  but it has been pretty smooth for
such a long time i may have lost it entirely!!

one of the bad thing about complaining when stuff goes wrong, is that
when it is smooth there is no trigger to prompt a well deserved
Att’a’Boy…so: wow, thanks for the ride lately [afair i missed the
thing on the 28th, i was “on the road again” so it didn’t make it onto
my score sheet]!!

i know one thing: it sure is nice to have those multiple friday
perturbations; incorrect page lands; and other recurring nits in the
rear view mirror (and shrinking from memory)!! so:

ATT’A’BOY ATT’A’BOY ATT’A’BOY ATT’A’BOY ATT’A’BOY

(never forget the rule: One “Ah’shucks!” wipes out all “Att’a’Boys”.)

It’s always good when things go right for a change.
