nmb(samba) always starts before br0

hi there, just can’t start br0 before nmb(samba), it always start right after eth0,
how to force startup to wait until br0 setup complete ??

have tried:
MANDATORY_DEVICES="" in /etc/sysconfig/network/config
and did played for a while with:
$network $remote_fs $syslog $all …etc… in service startup script

…no success , done it manually:
removed from start smbfs and nfs, and removed executable attr on smbfs, nfs and /etc/sysconfig/network/scripts/smbfs
-that works but…can’t use smbfs, nfs mounts at startup,

and i would like to know what is the proper way doing so…

Hello and welcome here (I se this is your fisrst post).

It is allways very difficult for other people to know what you have/do/experience when you do not tell. E.g. we can only guess (and still do not know for certain) what level of openSUSE you use.

In this case it is particular important because on level 11.4 (and earlier) the system starts using sysvinit and on level 12.1 it uses systemd (which still shows some problems for some cases).

thank you, indeed my first post :),
im using SLES11SP1 with recent updates,

btw. why setting br0 doesn’t count as a $network ??, only eth0 in this case,

Are you aware of the fact that these are the openSUSE forums and not the SLES/SLED ones? (They are at SUSE Forums )

Thus, it may be that you get a usefull respons here. but be aware of the fact that not many people here have aquaintance with SLED (or even know what it is).

obviously :), just want to know SUSE way to do so…
apart from manual tricks above, still got some in my pocket… :), and to be honest, haven’t got enough time for analyzing start-up scripts…

and there is no reason to force world wide open doors… (knowledge && solution is here…) so if i can help i used to do so…

You really should ask in the SUSE forums, not here. There may be important
differences on how SUSE startup works that we do not know about.
