Hello,
I am testing NIS 12.1 on a Sun box and having issues getting NIS set up. My organization uses NIS for all of its authentication, so without it, this version is pretty much unusable.
In YaST, I enter our domain and click ‘find’; it finds both of our local NIS IP’s. From that point, after selecting them both, clicking okay, and selecting the changes, it tries to start the service and states that it cannot find the NIS servers.
This obviously is quite frustrating, since in the prior prompt it finds them both just fine.
Anybody have experience with this problem?
