I just installed opensuse 11.1 beta2 on one of my box. Everything went well, until i had to mount a nfs partition.
it fails with the error below
mount.nfs: rpc.statd is not running but is required for remote locking.
mount.nfs: Either use ‘-o nolock’ to keep locks local, or start statd.
Please note that i am able to mount with the nolock option so the nfs server settings are correct.
In “Opensuse 11” this locking for nfs was provided by the portmap service, but looking for portmap in opensuse 11.1 gives me no results.
So has this portmap service replaced by something different in the newer version ?
I have tried looking in various other services but without any success.
rpcbind service is running on my box if that helps.
Any help is appreciated
