NFS problems after username change

I have a strange NFS problem and it can be related to these listings:

When I do a /usr/sbin/showmount --directories 192.168.1.6
Directories on 192.168.1.6:
/home/gert-jan/Shared
/home/gert-jan/Website

The name gert-jan was the old username

/usr/sbin/showmount --exports 192.168.1.6
Export list for 192.168.1.6:
/home/gertjan/Books *
/home/gertjan/Fotos *
/home/gertjan/Mail *
/home/gertjan/Music *
/home/gertjan/Shared *

This listing is connect, he uses the new username gertjan.

How can I correct this, In the NFS server and client I can’t find my old username just the new one.
Please advise.

Dunno. Pure guess is that this is out-dated cached information. I’d
guess things would cure themselves if you can unmount the directories
from the client and then remount them. I’d think that rebooting the
machines would be even more sure - but it is a bit defeatist. There may
be a way to do it whilst keeping everything online, but it would need
strong foo or good luck to find it (hint: it probably involves lazy
remounts and suchlike).

Please post output of:

On the serverside

cat /etc/exports

On the client side:

cat /etc/fstab

These are the 2 files that matter. You probably set the exports, but did not adjust the fstab.
Let us know how you got on with your namechange  (see link in my sig :D:D)

These are the exports on my server.
/home/gertjan/Shared *(rw,no_root_squash,insecure,no_subtree_check,sync,all_squash)
/home/gertjan/Music/ *(no_subtree_check,sync)
/home/gertjan/Mail/ *(rw,no_root_squash,insecure,no_subtree_check,sync,all_squash)
/home/gertjan/Fotos/ *(no_subtree_check,sync)
/home/gertjan/Books/ *(no_subtree_check,sync)

In the fstab I have only the default, no NFS shares ares in there.
The problem is the server side, but I can’t find any reference to my old login name anywhere
