I have a home NFS server running leap 15.4. I recently upgraded my personal computer from 15.5 to 15.6 and all of the sudden my NFS client is super slow. I can’t even watch videos stored in the server.
Please advise on what do I need to post here to get some help.
Maybe a version difference (your 15.4 is far behind).
Its going to be hectic to update the server. I rather leave it alone for now. Is there any way to make NFS work faster with different versions?
Is there any good reason to be that rude? IMNSHO not.
Have you investigated if you can update the NFS tools to a current version on that old server (considering you’re not updating that 15.4 server version) ??
(sidenote: personally, we’d never run a server OS that’s that old - too risky).
I decided to update the Server. all seems to be working good, except that I had to disable the firewall both in the server and the client to make it work.
can anyone guide me on how to configure firewalld to allow NF both in the client and the server?
You can use as example the YaST Firewall module. Add the nfs and nfs3 services to the relevant zone (e.g. public).
