News and Announcements not Updating

All activity seems to have stopped, in spite of daily Tumbleweed announcements and new posts at:

I am still seeing daily Tumbleweed announcements. The latest was for snapshot 20230118.

Well: News and Announcements - openSUSE Forums

For me it shows uppermost the announcement of New Tumbleweed snapshot 20221210 released!

It’s not listed in

20230102 is the only one shown.

Scroll down.

The older entries have been made sticky, so they show first. The newer entries are not being made sticky so they are lower on the page.

I think all of those imported from the old forum are showing as sticky. Maybe moderators need to unsticky them.

I have unsticked a bunch of them. Perhaps it looks better now.

I think that I have not explained myself clearly. The “News and Announcements” section of this forum used to include automatic posts from “News and Announcements” including news, weekly reports on changes covered by Tumbleweed snapshots, security warnings for Leap, etc. If you look in “News and Announcements” in this forum there are only two new posts in January to date, and one of those is a question by a user that appears to be in the wrong section.

If I click on:

Categories → News and announcements

then I see a bunch of January posts. But maybe what I see is different from what you see, probably because I’m a moderator.

This is what I see:

When you are used to the listings of the old forums, this is a mess indeed. (what is the discontinuing of Leap 15.2 doing up front???)

I can confirm I’m seeing exactly the same thing as doscott. Also, there’s a bunch of sections where when you click on the “about this section” lead post, it’s clearly boilerplate from the forum designer that’s intended to be replaced. It might just as well be Lorem Ipsum.

I saw this and got it filled in by something useful for the Dutch category. The others should follow.

I must have missed unpinning that 15.2 discontinuation thread. I’ve fixed that.

If I go to
Categories → News and Announcements
in a private browser window, I see the same as @doscott is reporting. In my normal browser window (as a moderator) I see many newer threads. But the newer threads all have that “link” icon which I think makes them not visible to non-moderators unless they know the direct link.

It looks to me as if something might be misconfigured. The Tumbleweed announcement for 20230102 is the most recent that looks like a normal topic (rather than a link).

@hellcp Can you assist here please?

I can indeed, by default the new posts from rss were unlisted, I changed the setting that kept them unlisted, so new topics will be listed. Some older topics may still come through from news.opensuse.org though, feel free to unlist them. Feel free to list any of the topics that are still unlisted too, they are signified by a crossed out eye on the left of the title.

Great news. I just read the announcement of the latest Tumbleweed snapshot.

One small issue though. There is a button in the post that says “Show Full Post”, but pushing it gives a never-ending “Loading…”. The accompanying link works though, so it’s not a big deal.
