Newly installed packages are not found in the taskbar menu

Hi, I noticed a strange behavior on my new pc with a freshly installed opensuse tumbleweed. After finishing the installation I wanted to install two missing packages/applications: thunderbird and keepassxc. I did this via the Yast Software GUI (as i did multiple times before on other systems). The packages where installed normally but even after a reboot none of the applications where added to the taskbar menu nor can be found when typing the name in the search field! On my other pc both applications show up with their respective icons!

I can run them via the console without any problems though, but this behavior looks strange to me, is there maybe a permissions problem?

Which DE do you use?
Did you do a custom package selection, that means, did you unselect packages for installation?

KDE Plasma and no during the installation I did not changed anything, I keept all default packages and settings

Ok today I did another updage (zypper dup) and after rebooting both applications are present in the menu. I do not know what solved the issue but I am glad it is gone

rebooting often forces thing to show up

You forgot that in his first post

So in my opinion that is not an explanation.

Yes, after installing the apps in the first place, I definitely did a reboot. What I did was:

zypper dup && shutdown -r now

there were not any updates to do but this resulted in a reboot. The difference with the last reboot, which resulted in solving the issue, was that this time there where package updates!
