What if I go to Opensuse.org do I have to use the md5sum to make sure it is ok ?

Your download can still be corrupted, even if it came from THE openSUSE site.
So yes, it’s a good to make sure it arrived on your disk as intended by checking the MD5 sum. (Might save you the money of burning something useless on a disc)
