newbie type question: multiple virtualbox-*-host packages

I have lots of virtualbox host packages installed. It looks like all versions there have ever been. Is it safe to delete them (except the most recent few)?

Thanks
David

Please paste the output of

rpm -qa '[Vv]irtual[Bb]ox*'

and

zypper se -si virtualbox

Apologies, Friday I got tired of it, so after the backup I wiped them all out (except the most recent). From the log:

Here’s what I have now:

virtualbox-host-kmp-desktop-4.2.18_k3.11.10_21-2.18.1.x86_64
virtualbox-4.2.18-2.18.1.x86_64
virtualbox-qt-4.2.18-2.18.1.x86_64

and the repositories:

S | Name | Type | Version | Arch | Repository
--+-----------------------------+---------+---------------------------+--------+---------------------
i | virtualbox | package | 4.2.18-2.18.1 | x86_64 | openSUSE 13.1 update
i | virtualbox-host-kmp-desktop | package | 4.2.18_k3.11.10_21-2.18.1 | x86_64 | openSUSE 13.1 update

It doesn’t seem to have broken the VMs I have (fingers crossed).

Virtualbox 4.2.x is stable and should be fine for most use but it is not the latest.
According to your logs you had Virtualbox 4.3.x which is more current.

Since you seem to have installed VBox fro the openSUSE repositories, you could update to the most recent version simply by updating your entire system

zypper update

Remember also,
When you update the Host to a more recent version, the individual Guests may have to be updated, too. most certainly the Guest Additions if you have them installed (again, if they’re openSUSE simply running “zypper update” in them, too might work).
