how did you install it? via YaST, zypper, or what? scribes is in the
packman repository and availailable for easy installation and addition
to your menu that way…

why do you launch it by opening a terminal? is it not in your menu? if
not, then that is probably because you installed it in a non-normal
way. *
why do you launch it as root? as far as i know it is a normal user
application…right?
okay, i had never heard of “scribes” (and have been using Linux for
most of 10 years, so that should tell you how “main line” scribes is!!)…
so, i just installed it while writing you…and, now i click
Menu > Utilities > Editor > Scribes Text Editor
and scribes springs to life…just text editor (ok i didn’t spend a
lot of time looking for its PROMISE of “ensuring common and repetitive
operations are intelligently automated.”
ok, so Scribes is now the fourth GUI text editor on my machine and i
can tell you it is nowhere near as good as gedit, which i bet is
already installed on yours…try:
Menu > Utilities > Editor > gedit
i think you will find it more like notebook or whatever you were using
in Windows…
and! now that it is installed on my machine i can do this:
hold down the Alt button and press F…a new window pops up, into the
blank there i type scribes and then click the “Run”
button…and, scribes pops onto my screen…no need to open a
terminal, no need to become root…no nothing…

are you trying to run scribe on the machine you are sitting at, or on
another machine connected via the network?
ok…i try it your way (open terminal, become root, type scribes,
press enter) and scribes pops onto my screen…no error…
i guess you have installed it on your machine wrong…

YaST automatically takes care of all dependencies…

i don’t get what is happening on your machine either!!
> Can anybody explain me thta mistake and how to fix it?
i do NOT have any idea how to uninstall the scribes you put
there…but, my guess is you can just forget it…that is leave it
alone and install now using YaST and all will be ok…
AND, spend some time reading about your powerful new operating
system…i’d suggest you begin here: http://en.opensuse.org/Concepts
which among other things talks about installing software…
and, don’t miss the official start up guide:
