Hi. I’m an Ubuntu user and decided to give openSUSE a shot, based on some sterling reviews.
I’m now running 12.1, and I’m on my desktop after first boot. Obviously, I need to install a few more things. I’ve installed (I think) restricted formats and now am wanting to install my Nvidia driver that I had in Ubuntu. The nice thing about Ubuntu is that, after my first boot, it gave me the option to install all the necessary things. Right now, I’m getting errors all over the place - I’m being told that something can’t install, then being told that it IS installed, and I don’t know how to install my Nvidia driver. I’ve clicked on the various forum links, but everything is lengthy and I have millions of windows open, making things very user-unfriendly.
What’s going on?
All I want is to install restricted formats and install my Nvidia driver (and not read lengthy posts about the history). Oh, and install Microsoft fonts.
I’ve managed to install the 4 recommended package managers. I THINK I’m coming along a bit better. I think I’ve installed my Nvidia driver… need to try find its settings but don’t know where they are…
