New updates via Applet fails.

Hi all.

Yesterday I had a fresh upgrade from Leap 15.2 to Leap 15.3.
But after that I have seen updates fail (LibreOffice) (how do I post a screenshot please?). Maybe this is because of the not compatible repos?
How do I clear this?

Thanks.
Vadim.

For now, just use

zypper up

at a root command line.

This won’t attempt to update libreoffice. But it also won’t clear the error you are seeing. So just stick to only “zypper up” until somebody has fixed the underlying problem.

Maybe this one:
https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1186593

I have done that.

sudo zypper up

Nothing changed as expected.

Thanks, Vadim.

Some more same problems with
bash update
today.

Thanks, Vadim.

Something has changed.

Yesterday, if I tried Yast Online Update, I got a bunch of conflict and it wanted to uninstall LibreOffice.

That problem has gone away. Instead, if I try today, it shows 2036 conflicts for a “bash” update. It looks as if it wants to uninstall almost the entire system.

It seems that the new build model (where we directly use packages built for SLE) is finding a few bumps along the road.

Apart from that, everything seems okay if I stick to “zypper up” for my updating.

This is a screenshot from KDE Update Applet.

Vadim.

You are correct. The specific update is SUSE-2021-1526-1.noarch and it is listed in the YaST2 Online Updater tool as a needed patch. Conflict resolution will require removing 3482 items for me, which is my entire system.

Of course, I opted to not install this patch but I must now learn how to properly resolve this problem. Do you have suggestions?

wait until the problem gets fixed. There is nothing you can do.

Tell me, as I’m new to this forum, has a bug been actually filed for this problem? I have seen several threads about update conflicts related to the new Leap 15.3 repos but none seemed to indicate that the problem has actually been communicated to the openSUSE developers. If you do know that a bug report exists for this issue, can you kindly provide me with its reference number? Thanks!

The problem still persists. LibreOffice and WebKit will not update via Applet. Also, “zypper up” will not update LibreOffice.

Please see the Screenshot.

Thanks.

The update error:

the to be installed patch:SUSU-2021-1499-1.noarch conflicts with 'webkit2gtk-4_0-injected-bundels.x86_64

Did not change from your earlier post.

Can you open up a console (konsole of KDE) and issue “sudo zypper up” and post the command with the whole output here? (use the # button to wrap it in between CODE tags)
That will show us more details so we can likely help better.

Please also post the output of “sudo zypper lr -u”, that will give the list of repositories enabled and it could be there are conflicting repo’s

The picture shows “SUSE” patches and you have been told that SUSE patches on Leap 15.3 are not working at the moment and that there is work in progress to solve the issues. Just ignore that and don’t use the applet at the moment.
“zypper up” does not update Libreoffice on Leap 15.3 just because there is no Libreoffice update for Leap 15.3 yet (check https://download.opensuse.org/update/leap/15.3/backports/x86_64/ where a Libreoffice update for Leap should appear).

Libreoffice updates will never appear there. Libreoffice is fully supported part of SLE and updates come from SLE (sle subdirectory).

Ok,
thanks,
will stick to “zypper up” at the moment.

Vadim.

Do you still need this?

Vadim.

Well, “sudo zypper up” looks good, so not really, but I had a look anyhow and it looks fine.
