NEW UPDATE: Cannot open files from either Chrome or Chromium

Clicking on a request to pull from my file system brings up the correct window, which instantly goes away. Social media sites are now unusable. It is due to something pushed out this morning. :frowning:

If there are any SuSE developers monitoring this: PLEASE TEST YOUR FIXES FIRST

Inexcusable!

P.S. Not only did I clear the cache & history et al., I wiped out the configuration directory just to be really sure. No go. This was untested.

P.P.S. Firefox works correctly.

You must not cry, open a bugreport when there is an problem.

When I’ve done that, the next time I see anything, several years have passed. I’ll certainly confess to not being patient anymore.

I know it’s not possible to test everything, but some of the failures I’ve seen make it all too clear that upgrade testing gets a pretty short shrift.

I’ve switched to Firefox. Good enough.

My current fully updated chrome in leap 15.3/mate desktop opens /home/user directory listing for me from file:///home/user put into search bar. Vivaldi (chrome based) browser that is my main browser app does not open file directory and I don’t know if it ever did. I do not have chromium installed.

Firefox does open a directory of files.

I don’t use any social media sites so I can give no reference.

In past times Firefox had more severe errors, introduced by Mozilla developers. :beat-up:

I read through that bug report the other day. It seems the fellow who introduced the problem has a handle on it. Firefox has its issues, so anyone have any fuzzy idea how long it will take for the fix to propagate through to an update? In the interim, I’m switching back and forth between Firefox and Chromium which also has its issues.
