New to Suse

Hi All,

I’m new to Suse. Previously been using Ubuntu.

I’m itching to install in the next day or two (now that i have all my new hardware).

My first question is if i install 11.1 RC1 tonight, how does it work when 11.1 is officially released in 10 days time? Is there an upgrade path - or is one not needed?

Any other hot tips for a new switcher?

Honestly. I would wait.
But upgrade is possible. But it can be a bit messy.
You basically just need to change the repo’s and do a distro upgrade with zypper

or if say you install 11.0
You could re-install and keep /home
(you will have a separate /home partition in Suse) Normally!
