Does SUSE have a system restore like XP? I have a laptop to give to my sister. I would like to remove my information.
Not really.
All your stuff is in /home
Depending on the size of /home you can make a backup fairly easily. And you will be able to get all your files and settings to transfer to a new machine.
Just a thought:
Log in as root. Go to Yast → security and users. You can delete yourself and all your /home/yourname files with a click. And while your there you can create a user with your sister’s name and her /home/hername new filesystem.
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
As root:
userdel -r <yourUserName>
useradd -m <yourSistersUserName>
passwd yourSistersUserName>
#enter password as prompted
Good luck.
