New Skype beta version released. Not a lot of new features. Mostly brings improved call and video quality, support for multiple calls and brings ‘Skype Access’ – a way to get on-line from half-a-million WiFi hotpots world wide using Skype credit.

Hi,
Conference calls were already working on 2.1.0.81.
In options >sound there is now a direct access to pavucontrol for pulse. This is a plus… for the rest… not a revolution!
What about the opening to the community? any project undergoing?
Instead of adding some (silly) features, they should have made a 64bit version. And, its still beta.
I’ll pass.
At least we do have have a new version, I was beginning to think that they had abandoned development for Linux completely.
If anyone has tries it yet would they like to post their experiences ?
I just have installed new version.
At the first glance everything seems to be OK and working.

same here (x64), but i don’t see any difference to the previous one.
pulseaudio selection, which someone mentioned earlier, is still the same
for me: only one choice, but works. they claim better audio & video
quality, which i didn’t experience. that may be due to my small bandwidth
tho.

With this new version I cannot use my web cam any more with Skype, does anyone has the same problem? (openSUSE 11.4)

nope, mine works fine. does your webcam work in other applications, like
cheese, or whatever?
