…well after a few months of using openSuse, I had to finally break down and reinstall on my Toshiba. this is an x86_64 install.
Just got too frustrated with a few things.
First there was the audio, kept crashing the pulse audio every time the player changed songs. Would have to stop shutdown the player and restart it.
Then there was a shutdown/reboot issue. Every time I shutdown or rebooted the system would just hang after it finished stopping the Dbus process(es), never could figure it out.
So after re-install, sound works perfect and doesn’t crash anymore (not sure what happened with original install). Shutdown and reboot works perfectly.
one of the differences I can see right now is that I have not installed Amarok player so far. But, not real worried about that, since Banshee works just fine with my new/used iPod I just bought. $90 @ a local pawn shop, sweet!
So now I’m happy with it again with OpenSuse 11!!
