New nvidia driver

There is a new nvidia driver. I am using it for a week now.
No one was able to post it here, there might be some users
unaware of this and maybe interested to install.
Here is the link.

Hi
Been running it for a few days here, check my sig

All working fine here on Gnome Shell 3.0.2.

openSUSE 11.4 (x86_64) Kernel 2.6.37.6-0.7-desktop
up 13:45, 3 users, load average: 0.06, 0.16, 0.23
GPU GeForce 8600 GTS Silent - Driver Version: 285.05.09

To load the proprietary nvidia driver on my openSUSE-11.4 install (with a nVidia GTX260 graphic card) using the manual method (used to be called ‘the hardway’ ) in addition to setting NO_KMS_IN_INITRD=yes in YaST > System > /etc/sysconfig editor > system > kernel … I also had to black list it in /etc/modprobe.d/50-blacklist.conf file. With that setup, the proprietary video driver loaded and worked nicely.

I also just tested VDPAU and it works nicely with this new 285.05.09 driver on openSUSE-11.4 with this hardware.

On the same hardware, I then installed the 285.05.09 driver on my test partition of openSUSE-12.1 beta1 installation (with KMS_IN_INTRD=no - note logic in label reversed from 11.4, … and nouveau blacklisted in 50-blacklist.conf ) and the proprietary driver again worked nicely. Also again, a test of VDPAU worked nicely.

Thanks again for keeping us informed.

Notice of inversion of KMS_IN_INTRD logic for 12.1 appreciated.
