New keyboard - how to generate new xorg.conf?

Hi,

Probably missing something here but I have a new kb (MS Ergonomic 4000, UK) and would like to get the Zoom function working as a scroll for the mouse (either as an addition or instead, whichever is easier).
It seems that a new install would autodetect the kb and set up this functionality but not simply using the yast2 > hardware > keyboard layout. Does anyone know if I can (like the sax2 -r (etc) line for involing an nvidia driver) get a new (possibly an evdev two keyboard setup) using a similar line?
Or should I hack the xorg.conf as suggested in various posts?
OpenSuse 10.3 - 2.6.22.18-0.2-default
Much obliged…

Easier to hack your xorg.conf. Or boot to init 3 & run sax from there

Thanks Andy (and for the philosophical advice!) I’ll cross my fingers, backup the conf and hack away.
