New is good!

We have a new forum.
We have what looks like an awesome 11.0 coming out in 10 days.
Suse has hit #1 @ DistroWatch.
Checking the last 30 days.
DistroWatch.com: Put the fun back into computing. Use Linux, BSD.

Life is good

Hey Doog, welcome aboard old friend. Let us know how 11.0 does on those Thinkpads

#1 on Distrowatch! Cool Beans!

I remember how upset the Ubuntu forums were when they PCLinuxOS bumped them from the #1 slot.

as a ubuntu user - currently waiting for 11.0 GM before deciding to switch (10.3 package management and sloooooowness ticked me off) - when PCLOS hit ti top - i had alook at it, and it was IMHO rubbish - whereas Ubuntu isnā€™t rubbish, it does the job  Just my two-penneth worth

Wow, I found 10.3ā€™s Yast to be 100% better than 10.2! I hope 11.0 continues this trend.

Wait for zypper in 11.0. Itā€™s damn fast, trust me

New is very good. Every time I turn around, I am stepping on something new. I am going to have to pick up a whole new spindle of CD-Rs and DVD+Rs since I am eating them like M&Ms these days.

Yeah the new forums r cool, I didnā€™t even realize they had started, busy giving a level exams, only 3 left

New forums, opensuse 11.0, kde 4, opensuse has number one position on distrowatch and exams going to be overā€¦COOL!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Itā€™s going to be a great month for Opensuse.

btw, if you go to Distrowatch and look for openSUSE in their ranking you have to look for it at the ā€œlast 7 daysā€, but itā€™s there!

Coming from Debian and Ubuntu and having used Suse 9.x and openSuse 10.x in the past, I have found that zypper in 11 RC1 is quite an improvement over past experiences.

Went the same was as Red Hat retailā€¦ gone.

As always, there was a ā€œbusinessā€ reason for removing it. However what
it tells the consumer is ā€¦ Linux didnā€™t work out.

Marketing folks donā€™t understand consumers anymore.

No need to ship a lot to storesā€¦ but would help to
keep Linux (like a brand) in front of their faces.

Donā€™t know about you guys buy I can still go to my biggest comp store here and pick up various Linux distributions right off the shelf - including SuSE.

Have you seen it recently at a national retailer?
