New install of opensuse 11.2 with lvm encryption setup

This is a new installation of opensuse 11.2 with encrypted lvm. I am having the same issue that some others are having when I did a google search. At boot time I get messages at the console screen showing “couldn’t find ??? UUID” I have absolutely no problems with my laptop though. I have the system running as smooth as silk. I am thinking this is not really a message stating that it couldn’t find some lvm’s or that anything is corrupted. I think it is just a bug?

Has anyone else seen this.

The message looks very similar to this:
Couldn’t find device with uuid ’ lLWxB7-QmLl-FMXX-KQRW-EDH2-EHLL-o7D21b’
Couldn’t find device with uuid ’ lLWxB7-QmLl-FMXX-KQRW-EDH2-EHLL-o7D21b’
Couldn’t find device with uuid ’ lLWxB7-QmLl-FMXX-KQRW-EDH2-EHLL-o7D21b’

Hello,

It seems that lvm is not initializing. It could be missing from the initrd. See the file /etc/sysconfig/kernel; you may need to add lvm and rebuild the initrd using mkinitrd. This is what I had to do to get 11.2 boot into raid10 over lvm.

Take care,
