Hello,
I just installed suse on a disk that’s connected to the motherboard SATA controller.
Works like a charm.
I added 2 hard drives connected to a PCI/SATA card expecting I could create a RAID 1 out of them and keep the data separated from the system.
When I booted up, I got surprised with the fact both newly added disks had been added on the dmraid automatically.
dmsetup status
pdc_gicijfga_part3: 0 621785088 linear
pdc_gicijfga_part2: 0 2891776 linear
pdc_gicijfga_part1: 0 319488 linear
pdc_gicijfga: 0 625000000 mirror 3 8:32 8:0 8:16 2159/4769 1 AAA 1 core
How can I safely find from which disk the system boots, remove those disks from the dmraid and create a mdadm software raid with them?
The Yast interface is of no help in this.
Any tips please?
Thanks a lot.
