Dear All,
1-
Has someone tested the serial 8port card
based on Oxford 16C952 chip [like vendor startech.com (other may exist), Oxford OXMPCI952-LQAG chipset] ?
Is the kernel 2.6.25.16 now fully supporting this new relase of chip that is the successor of ‘old’ 8250 familly (:sarcastic: seems 16C950 baud rate goes much higher than 8250, then new software baud divisor registers exists, and kernel has to manage them too).
I’ve noticed that ‘setserial’ only deals with 16C950 or 16C954 but NOT 16C952…
2- As it is 8 ports, is it sufficient to add serial ports to /dev/ttySx and the card will self define the adress and irq?
3- Will those added port be ready on further reboots, or do I have to change something in /etc/init.d/serial too?
Thanks for help mounting this new card on OpenSuse 11.0
Sincerelly
Hervé
