New 13.2. New TW. File '/repodata/repomd.xml' Not Found

Hi. New 13.2, decided to try TW so made a last minute switch over follwing the TW wiki instructions, everything went smoothly, repos look as they should, but get the following trying to update / install software (zypper or apper) and cannot proceed:

File '/repodata/repomd.xml' not found on medium 'http://download.opensuse.org/update/20141105-non-oss/'

Thanks.

Ah! Thanks Philippe. That worked fine!

I see you have the Packman Tumbleweed repository for 13.1. Now I have to figure out Packman Tumbleweed for 13.2…

Hi,

Yast==> maintain repositories ==> add

for the mirrors see http://packman.links2linux.org/mirrors

regards
Philippe

That repo does not exist. TW no longer has any “update” repos.

Ken

???
There is no “Packman Tumbleweed for 13.1” nor “Packman Tumbleweed for 13.2”. That doesn’t make sense.
There’s Packman for Tumbleweed, for 13.1, and for 13.2.

As you are using Tumbleweed, you have to use Packman for Tumbleweed of course, e.g.
http://packman.inode.at/suse/openSUSE_Tumbleweed/

(or replace packman.inode.at with another mirror of your choice, the mirror list has been posted already)

Note: 13.2 and Tumbleweed are completely different things. Tumbleweed is a distribution of its own now, it’s not just an addon repo for the latest openSUSE release, i.e. 13.2 at the moment, any more.
If you have any 13.2 repos left, you should remove them.
Maybe post your repo list if you are unsure:

zypper lr -d

For more information about the new Tumbleweed, see here:
https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Tumbleweed

Well, actually it does not yet have any update repos.
Most probably they will be created at some point.

But that URL is definitely incorrect, yes. AFAIK it got added by some bogus update.

As has happened with the “shellshock” vulnerability, it might be necessary to release a critical security update at times when Tumbleweed cannot be published because of some problems/failed tests. At this point you need a separate update repo.
It would be bad and against the principle of being stable to publish Tumbleweed in such a case despite of the problems just to get the security fix out, and it would be bad to delay the security fix for an uncertain amount of time (days, maybe weeks) either.

I misunderstood what the wiki was telling me. I get it now you mentioned the Note. I have no 13.2 repos left, just a bare bones TW same as phil524 except without additional repos like Packman. I got confused from the TW Portal link as it leads to Additional package repositories - openSUSE Wiki I just misunderstood it.
