new 13.1 installation - how can I find the root password?

Hello,
I try to handle my new installed opensuse 13.1, but I do not know the required passwort for root.
During installation I was only asked for a user name and an user password, not for a root password.
I remember in earlier time there was no problem. Is 13.1 changed concerning root password? Have I to define it during installation?

I can’t acces the terminals and I can’t update and so on.
What can I do now? New installation with the same problem?

Thanks in advance

At the spot during installation where you were prompted to enter a user name and password there was a “check a box” for using a different password for root. If you did not check the box, I believe that root is using your user password. If you had checked the box you would have been prompted to enter a password for root.

Then the root password should be the same as that user password.

It works!
After a new start is now the user password accepted for the root!

For security reasons it is better to have different passwords. Thus my advice is to change the root password.
