Never Saw Root Password Set Option During Installation

I don’t recall seeing an option for setting any root password during the installation of openSUSE from a live DVD. Where and how would I be able to do this after it is already installed? Also, is there a termainal command line or other way to make sure that the installation is without any bugs, since it wasn’t installed from a downloaded ISO disc? Thanks.

Hi
The default now is to use sudo and your user password. You can change
it by using sudo -i from the cli, then passwd to change the root
password.

In the default installation the passwords of root and first user are the same. There was a box to uncheck this which you missed.

Use any of the many options available to change your root password.
