Since a 1-2 weeks or so, NetworkManager on my laptop is stuck at 100% CPU usage.
After googling around, it seems that Tumbleweed isn’t the only affected distro :
ArchLinux users are having the same problems
It seems to be linked to a new different behaviour of libcurl on broken IPv6 networks
I have the same problem. Has anyone been able to confirm if the curl downgrade mentioned in the Arch bugtracker works on TW?
I’m pretty sure that I saw another thread about this recently, but it might have been a mailing list thread. And, yes, it mentioned libcurl as apparently involved.
There was a curl update in 20190310. But I don’t know whether that fixed the problem. If you are not yet updated to that snapshot, maybe you should update now.
The problem still exists in 20190310, just checked. The last snapshot not having this problem seems to be 20190205.
According to https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/61688 , curl 7.64.0-9 fixes this bug. https://build.opensuse.org/package/users/devel:libraries:c_c++/curl does not seem to be updated yet (last commit 5 days ago). I’ll check if there’s a bug filed and do so if not.
I filed a bug requesting expedited uplift to latest curl, see https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1129083 . I’ll add any new information in bugzilla, so be sure to check there for updates.
